A-Rete High Performance Tennis Academy is an elite coaching and training center for the best prospective tennis professionals from all over the world. Located in the immediate vicinity of beautiful Lake Como, equipped with the best training implements and staffed by a team of elite professional tennis coaches and trainers, A-Rete Academy is the place where athletes of all ages can develop their skills, their performance, and their mindset to become tomorrow’s champions in the top tennis tournaments of the European circuit like ATP and ITF.
WHAT IS A-RETE HIGH PERFORMANCE TENNIS ACADEMY?
A-Rete Academy is an internationally-staffed, high level coaching and training center designed to develop and foster the professional growth of elite tennis players of all ages, with long-stay, intensive training programs designed to guide you along the pathway that leads to higher and higher tournament circuits until you’re ready to compete at the top world level. With facilities including multi-surface courts and permanent indoor structures as well, fitness and wellness centers, and on-site accommodation, we’re the place where you can hone your performance, build the right mindset, train your body and develop the skills and tactics you’ll need to become a top-level player.
We can provide what you need. But it’s an exacting pathway, one where we won’t let you off easy at any time.
And no, it’s not for everyone.

A-Rete Academy is different from a Tennis School. This is not where you come to learn to play this sport – it’s where you come to prepare for competition with the best players this sport has to offer. It’s a big investment on your side – economically, time-wise, and work-wise.
So it’s best to know what it takes to be one of the select few who are eligible for a place here at the Academy.

split between 2 spots for ITF girls, and 4 spots for ITF boys
2 spots open for 18+ ATP players
We’ll be glad to evaluate your application to any of these open spots, but these are our criteria for acceptance into the Academy
Discipline and Commitment
YOU MUST PROVE SINCERE FULL-TIME DEDICATION TO TENNIS TRAINING AND COMPETITION.
THIS MEANS BEHAVING AS A PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PLAYER, MAINTAINING CONSISTENCY IN ATTENDING SESSIONS, AND KEEPING YOUR TRAINING LOGS.
PRIORITY IN SELECTION WILL ALWAYS BE GIVEN TO PLAYERS ENROLLING IN FULL-TIME, YEAR-ROUND TRAINING PROGRAMS.
Competitive Drive
YOU MUST SHOW A STRONG PERSONAL DRIVE TO IMPROVE PHYSICALLY, TECHNICALLY, AND MENTALLY, AND A PASSION FOR COMPETING AT HIGH-LEVEL EVENTS.
Performance history and ranking
ALONGSIDE YOUR PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT TRAJECTORY AND SENSIBLE EXPECTATIONS FOR YOUR AGE GROUP, HAVING A CURRENT ITF/TE/ATP/WTA RANKING OR EQUIVALENT, WITH A STORY OF COMPETITIVE SUCCESS ON THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL, WILL HOLD SIGNIFICANT IMPORTANCE. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO PROFILES INCLUDING COMPETITION IN
- National Championship Circuits
- Tennis Europe (TE)
- ITF Junior/Pro Circuit
- ATP/WTA-sanctioned events
Developmental Stage & Growth Potential
YOU WILL BE EVALUATED BY A REVIEW OF YOUR BIOLOGICAL AND CHRONOLOGICAL AGE AND HOW IT IS IN LINE WITH CURRENT PERFORMANCE DATA. THE CEILING FOR YOUR FUTURE GROWTH, BASED ON ATHLETICISM, TECHNICAL BASE, AND MATURITY, WILL BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT – AND WE ACTIVELY ENCOURAGE YOUNGER PLAYERS WITH HIGH-POTENTIAL PROFILES TO APPLY.
Coachability
YOU WILL HAVE TO PROVE ABILITY TO RESPOND POSITIVELY TO STRONG, STRUCTURED COACHING, ABSORBING FEEDBACK AND ADJUSTING YOUR TACTICS AND TECHNIQUE ACCORDINGLY, WITH AN OPEN ATTITUDE TO LEARNING UNDER STRONG PRESSURE. THIS CRITERION IS PARAMOUNT TO US, SO MUCH SO THAT AT THE DISCRETION OF THE DIRECTOR OF HIGH PERFORMANCE THESE QUALITIES MIGHT EARN YOU A SPOT FOR CONSIDERATION EVEN IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A CURRENT RANKING.
Trial Period and Assessment
YOU WILL UNDERGO A MANDATORY TRIAL AND TESTING PERIOD FOR A TIME DEPENDING ON YOUR LEVEL, AND IN ANY CASE NO LESS THAN A MONTH. THIS WILL INCLUDE ON-COURT AND BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENTS, BOTH IN INDIVIDUAL AND GROUP SETTINGS, AND PHYSICAL TESTING, AND ALL RESULTS WILL BE REVIEWED BY THE HIGH-PERFORMANCE TEAM FOR FINAL SELECTION.

WHERE YOU’LL BE LIVING, TRAINING, AND LEARNING
When you’re accepted at the Academy, you’ll be living, training, and learning in a facility built to give you the ideal environment to work on your constant improvement as a professional elite tennis player. A-Rete Academy is built in a secluded, tranquil spot just six miles from Lake Como, in the North of Italy, offering favorable weather and healthy living conditions all year round.
Accomodation
APARTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR YOU DIRECTLY ON-SITE, IN A BEAUTIFUL ESTATE SET IN A QUIET, RELAXING LOCATION THREE MILES FROM A REGIONAL PINEWOOD PARK, IN THE SLIGHTLY HILLY COUNTRYSIDE OF LOMBARDY. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO LIVE HERE AND AVOID ANY WASTE OF TIME ON COMMUTING, ALLOWING FOR FULL FOCUS ON YOUR TRAINING. STARTING NOVEMBER 1ST 2025, APARTMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE AREA TO ALLOW FOR FAMILY OR LARGER REQUIREMENTS.
Logistics
WHILE BEING SET IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COMO COUNTRYSIDE, SURROUNDED BY NATURE AND QUIET, A-RETE ACADEMY IS GEOGRAPHICALLY IDEALLY LOCATED FOR ALL EUROPEAN TOURNAMENTS, MOST OF WHICH ARE WITHIN DRIVING DISTANCES; WHEN DRIVING IS NOT POSSIBLE, WE ARE 30 MINUTES AWAY FROM MALPENSA AIRPORT, A PRIME INTERNATIONAL HUB, AND OF COURSE AIRPORT PICK UP AND DROP OFF WILL BE AVAILABLE. NO LONG, STRESSFUL JOURNEYS BEFORE IMPORTANT COMPETITIONS. MILAN, THE REGIONAL CAPITAL OF LOMBARDY, IS LESS THAN 45 MINUTES AWAY.

A-RETE ACADEMY OFFERS ALL THE TRAINING AND WELLNESS FACILITIES YOU NEED TO DEVELOP AS AN ELITE TENNIS PLAYER:
- Six tennis courts, both hardcourt and clay, open and covered, equipped for day and night games
- A PlaySight SmartCourt Video Analysis system to record your games in HD from all angles for review and AI-powered analysis of every stroke
- A fully equipped Gym and fitness center for Cardio, Strength and Weights training, with Desmotec machines for tennis-focused training
- Full, professionally staffed recovery facilities including physio, massage, and cryosauna
- A Café providing healthy food on-site for your lunch breaks
HIGH PERFORMANCE TENNIS ACADEMY’S TRAINING PROGRAMS
The key point of our whole training philosophy here at A-Rete Academy is personalization. Each player has their own road towards elite performance, and it takes personalized coaching along the right pathway benchmarks to bring out the champion in each top player.
The Academy’s top training program is fully centered around preparing Pro Team players
Pro Team (Ages 12+)
OBJECTIVE: Preparation and launch into professional circuits (ITF, ATP/WTA).
KEY FEATURES: Full-time integrated training and coaching program with 6 hrs/day training sessions including recovery, performance reviews, and career planning: Monday–Friday.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- Competitive TE, national ranking or ITF, ATP/WTA rankings
- Coachable mindset with clear professional goals is our main selection tool
- Commitment to travel and full-time training
